The short version

• The Vault feature processes raw DNA files in your browser in this MVP.
• Vault encryption happens on-device using your passphrase (we don’t receive it).
• Optional: Encrypted cloud backup stores your encrypted vault for up to 30 days so you can restore it on another device.
• Waitlist submissions store your email (plus optional fields) so we can contact you.
• Survey submissions store your answers (and optional email) to help us prioritize.

Data we collect

• Waitlist: email, plus optional role and note.
• Survey: optional email and your responses (please do not paste genetic data).
• Cloud backup (optional): encrypted vault blobs and basic metadata (created/expiry).
• Basic operational logs via our reverse proxy (e.g., request metadata).

By default, we do not receive your raw DNA file because parsing happens on your device. If you opt into encrypted cloud backup, we store an encrypted vault blob that may contain genetic variants, but we cannot decrypt it without your passphrase.
